Have you heard of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC)? No? I hadn’t either until recently. But it turns out that the IABC Edmonton Chapter liked our sandbox of wellness just as much as we do! In fact, our little site was recently honoured with an Award of Excellence at the IABC Capital Awards Gala last Thursday evening.
The awards program evaluates communications initiatives based on the success of their planning and execution and the extent to which they met their goals and objectives. As you know, from my previous blog, The Sandbox has met (and wildly exceeded) our early predictions and expectations!
That the site is an award-winning communications vehicle is no surprise to me—our registrants (that’s most of you!) and contributors are an incredibly engaging and committed group! The Sandbox is also meeting a need in the school employee workplace health arena that we identified in the early stages of our planning—the steady growth and interest in The Sandbox I’ve observed these last months is a testament to that.
I’d like to congratulate everyone in The Sandbox community for all you do in your respective workplaces. This award is for you—for each little wellness win that you’ve had and for all the wins waiting for you on the horizon.
You are winning in your workplaces. The Sandbox won at IABC. Who knows what's next for school employee workplace wellness in this province! All I can say is “Look out, world!”
