If you squint, you might just be able to make it out—a nebulous outline flickering in the distance. What is it, you ask? That’s no mirage, my friend, no fata morgana: that’s summer holidays and they’re on their way!
You’d be forgiven for feeling like summer’s still a ways off, though—as one of our dedicated wellness champions, you’ve surely got plenty to keep you busy between now and then, from your usual responsibilities to all the great wellness work you lead and inspire throughout your workplace. We’ve got your backs, though! If you’re in the midst of a busy home stretch, here’s a carefully curated collection (how’s that for alliteration?) of ways to help your team stay happy and healthy:
- Stay social. Social connection isn’t just fun, it’s essential to collective well-being within any workplace. Remember to broaden your focus and encourage opportunities for meaningful social connection between colleagues. Those kinds of opportunities—especially during busy periods—can really help your team re-energize and thrive.
- Simple, simple, simple. If we’ve said it once, we’ve said it a thousand times: keep it simple! Look for break ideas and exercises that are quick, easy and fun. Even just a few minutes a day—perhaps for a team walk, a shared laugh or even a daily vacation—can do wonders for the well-being of your group.
- Support success. Supporting wellness in your workplace means taking the right steps, and while that’s true at any time of year, it’s especially so when things are at their busiest. So, however you support your colleagues’ wellness, and whether you’re in a school, office or elsewhere, be sure to try and meet people where they’re at—in a way that’s meaningful for them.
