Ready, Set, Ready?

by The Sandbox Staff | April 25 2019

A winning workplace wellness strategy is nothing without a willing workplace. To put it in non-tongue twister terms: in order for your initiative to be successful, you need to make sure your workplace is ready for it. Luckily, we’ve got three simple ways to make sure you’re not just ready to go, but ready to assess your readiness too!

  1. Ready. The first step in making sure your team is ready, is being ready yourself. Since leading by example will be a vital component to the success of your wellness strategy, examine what your own hurdles may be and create a plan to overcome them.
  2. Set. Now that you’re ready, learn about readiness and how it relates to the bigger picture. Diving deeper into this topic will not only help you support your team, but also make sure your ideas have a successful take-off.
  3. Ready. Before you can transform your workplace, you have to transform ‘ready’ into ‘go.’ Use the Idea Readiness Tool to see where your team falls on the spectrum. From there, you can ensure that needs are being met and you have a strong foundation when you start putting together a plan.

As you can see, much like a workplace wellness initiative, being ready is a team effort that requires buy-in from leaders and participants alike. In fact, think of this stage in your workplace wellness efforts like a relay race, where every part—and every person’s commitment—are equally important. What matters most is making sure you can all support each other no matter what stage you’re at.
