Today is your day! Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!”
As metaphors for workplace wellness go, a mountain seems fitting, doesn’t it? Daunting, aspirational, even a bit majestic (that’s how we feel, anyway). So, no matter what your wellness mountain looks like, here are a few tips to help you reach your peak:
- Start small. We all know that even the longest journeys begin with a single step—workplace wellness is no exception. The most meaningful steps you can take towards changing school culture are often the small ones.
- Talk about it. As our stellar workplace wellness liaison, Ashley Hughes, suggests, cultures that truly support and promote wellness are often cultivated one conversation at a time.
- Teamwork makes the dream work. We can’t overstate how important a strong and supportive team is to your workplace wellness goals, so encourage team-building opportunities whenever you can—the weirder the better. Because you wouldn’t climb an actual mountain alone, either (we hope).
- Lead the way. This may sound like simple advice, but don’t forget to lead by example! There’s no surer way to attract and inspire others in your workplace than by walking the talk yourself.
