Making Connections in the Sand

by Gillian Woroniuk ASEBP | February 15 2018

My colleague, Shandy Reed, and I were interviewed recently by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) about the development of The Sandbox and boy did the memories come flooding back. It was so fun to remember all the energy-filled hours imagining the impact our little sandbox could have on the wellness community in Alberta. It felt like important work at the time and, scrolling through the site today, I can see that it has exponentially exceeded what we all dreamed possible back in 2015.

Ultimately, The Sandbox is designed to be a tool for wellness champions to further the incredible, people-centred work they do every day. As a communicator, knowing this and having been fortunate to be there at the beginning, is just incredibly fulfilling—my cup runneth over.

If you’re interested in how ASEBP and our partners launched and grew the site, how The Sandbox is a little like and how we can continue to grow our network of amazing wellness superheroes, check out the article—it’s a great read!

With countless years of communications experience under her belt, the self-titled 'G' used to be ASEBP’s very own super communicator. While she will certainly forget your name and is unable to get across a bridge without a panic attack, Gillian’s the one you want when you need someone to round out your punk rock air guitar band.
