Q: What is the SCHOOL model?
A: See the What is SCHOOL page for the full scoop on the SCHOOL formula that ASEBP uses when working to support employers in the area of employee and workplace health.
Q: I didn’t see my employer listed when I went to register. Am I allowed to participate on this site?
A: Most likely, yes! The Sandbox was originally established as a tool for wellness champions in the public education sector in Alberta but we know that there are oodles of individuals and groups who can contribute to the workplace wellness dialogue in ways we’ve not yet imagined. Simply Get in Touch with us by submitting your name, email address and the employer you'd like to add as a workplace on The Sandbox—we’ll review your submission to ensure a good fit and get right back to you.
*Note that The Sandbox is not a marketplace for vendors and service providers to sell products or services.
Q: How did the idea for The Sandbox come about?
A: Initially, ASEBP’s former CEO saw potential value in connecting wellness champions to one another in the area of wellness. To validate the potential of this idea, identified wellness champions and provincial partners in the public education sector in Alberta were surveyed to assess their specific needs and preferences around wellness activities and promotion in Alberta's school communities. The results of this needs assessment ultimately formed the central framework of the site, which ensures wellness champions have the ability to quickly and easily collaborate with like-minded individuals and groups, have single-source access to wellness resources, can be inspired by shared stories and have a space to hear about wellness events in their area.
Q: Who is involved in this website? Is it just ASEBP?
A: The Alberta School Employee Benefit Plan (ASEBP) is one of six partners committed to the successful launch and maintenance of The Sandbox. Alberta Health Services, the Alberta Healthy School Community Wellness Fund, APPLE Schools, Be Fit For Life Network and Ever Active Schools all collaborate with ASEBP to draft blogs, participate on the forum and contribute to the review of submitted resources and events. For more information on the site, visit the About page.
Q: I’m looking for something specific, how can I go about requesting a certain resource or providing feedback?
A: We’d love to hear any and all suggestions! In the footer of each page on the site, you’ll find a link in the “Get in Touch” section, which will take you to a feedback form. All that’s required is your name, email address and question to submit—no need to register or sign in to comment!
